Some of us grew up in families with one or more narcissistic parents and /or siblings. In such families we experience emotional abuse which will continue long into our adulthood until we recognize it for what it is and begin to heal and make empowered choices. When we awaken to the fact that we have been a family scapegoat we begin to learn about narcissism and emotional abuse and can begin to make more sense out of what we have experienced. Once we understand the impact it has had on us we can begin to process the trauma we have endured and begin to make changes within ourselves that will alter the future of these relationships as well as others. Sadly, eliminating abuse from our lives may require us to end relationships with "toxic" family members when they are unable to meet the new and reasonable rules of engagement that we establish for our own peace and well being. In sharing details of my own story, I hope to help readers know that they are not alone and to encouragethem to empower themselves in their journey towards truth, healing and freedom. To my way of thinking, in hopes of shifting specific paradigms, towards the end of the book I lend a spiritualand wholistic perspective in which I lay out a logically built and substantiated perspective in which I argue, contrary to some more culturally and secularly dominant "positive thinking" and "I am going to do me" philosophies, that forgiveness is not only a powerful and ultimately more deeply healing elixir. I, in fact, diplomatically and gently, with sound reasoning, explain my case that finding forgiveness is absolutely essential to and an integrally necessary component of finding true, deep and lasting healing, as well as the key to discovering a profoundly meaningful and deeply unifying experience that liberates us from the bondage of our own, otherwisealso ego-driven struggle....10 percent of all gross revenue will be donated to the House of Ruth - knowing that much of the suffering of those who must be protected due to issues of domestic abuse often has its roots in the painful reality that is narcissism / Narcissistic Personality Disorder...www.authorscottpatrickmcgowan.com Read more
